Product Special requirements for industrial applications
Sewage treatment:
- COD removal rate: need to match the base degree (usually the base degree 70-85% effect is best);
- Flocculation rate is related to Al₂O₃ content and molecular weight.
Industrial circulating water treatment:
- The content of chloride ion (Cl⁻) should be controlled (to avoid corrosion of equipment), usually ≤3.5%;
- Sulfate (SO₄²⁻) content ≤9.0%.
Ction Process Steps
Dissolution Reaction
- Reaction Principle: Aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)₃) reacts with hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form aluminum chloride (AlCl₃) and water:
Al(OH)3+3HCl→AlCl3+3H2OAl(OH)3+3HCl→AlCl3+3H2O
- Reaction Conditions:
Hydrochloric acid concentration: 27%-31% industrial-grade HCl.
Temperature: 70-100°C (ambient pressure to avoid HCl volatilization).
Reaction duration: 2-4 hours until the solution clarifies.
Polymerization Reaction
Slowly add alkaline substances (e.g., calcium aluminate, sodium hydroxide, or aluminum ash) to the AlCl₃ solution to adjust the basicity (salt base degree) to the target range (typically 50%-80%).
Reaction generates polyaluminum chloride (PAC):
AlCl3+OH−→[Al2(OH)nCl6−n]mAlCl3+OH−→[Al2(OH)nCl6−n]m
Key Parameters:
- Stirring speed: Ensure homogeneous mixing.
- pH control: Regulated by alkaline additive dosage.
Aging and Maturation
- Allow the reaction mixture to mature at 50-70°C for 12-48 hours to promote polymerization and stabilize the product.
Post-Treatment
- Liquid PAC: Filter to remove impurities before packaging.
- Solid PAC: Convert to powder via spray drying or drum drying.
